The Chaplet of St. Philomena

The chaplet of St. Philomena is a way of honoring the saint and asking for her intercession. The chaplet consists of a crucifix, three white beads, and a loop of 13 red beads.

1. On the crucifix, say the Apostle’s Creed.
2. On each of the three white beads, say an Our Father for each of the three persons of the Holy Trinity.
3. On each red bead, say the following prayer, one for each of the thirteen years of St. Philomena’s earthly life: “Hail, O holy St. Philomena, whom I acknowledge after Mary as my advocate with thy divine spouse, intercede for me now and the hour of my death. St. Philomena, beloved daughter of Jesus and Mary, pray for us who have recourse to thee.
4. On the metal, say the concluding prayer. “Hail, O illustrious St. Philomena, who didst so courageously shed they blood for Christ. I bless the Lord for the graces he bestowed upon thee during thy life, and especially at thy death. I praise and glorify him for the honor and power with which he hast crowned thee, and I beg thee to obtain for me from God the graces I ask through thy intercession. Amen.
